A few years ago when we used the old large Sat. dish, a station showed them and I taped several of them. Also, a friend order tapes from somewhere. Great show. Should be shown on TV. Not as bad or racist as Sanford & son.

Yeah. The shows are harmless sitcoms with good acting. Very entertaining. I used to rent them on VHS.

Around 1970, a syndicated special hosted by George Kirby showed clips from A&A, and urged its return to the airwaves. It had been yanked from distribution in a kneejerk over-reaction to the civil rights movements of the 1960s. A few years later, George Jefferson and Sanford and Jimmy J. J. Walker and many other black characters behaved in far more extreme ways than A&A.
